This new Peach & Lily launch instantly offers a skin of glass

Since the skin of glass trend first appeared in Korea, everyone has coveted it. And we can thank Alicia yoon for that. the Peach & Lily founder trained as an esthetician in the US and Korea and combined the best of both worlds. When she launched the Peach Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum in 2018, the promise of a glass skin in a bottle blew it off the shelves. Now she finally adds another one to the mix: Peach & Lily Glass Skin Veil Mist. “We really kicked off this glass skin movement and as the serum got so viral, people kept wondering when your next glass skin product will be released,” Yoon says. “We could have just pumped products, but we were very intentional. We asked ourselves what do people need to keep their skin very healthy? A mist is hydrating and rejuvenation is essential skin care. Our skin needs this support all day long.

the Peach & Lily Glass Skin Veil Mist is quite the multitasking. Obviously, this gives the look of glass skin, but it does a lot more, including hydrating, fighting damage, and soothing the skin. It is designed to be worn in three ways. “First of all, you can wear it directly on bare skin to achieve an instant vitreous veil,” says Yoon. “You get this replenishment of all of these beneficial ingredients that aren’t just hydration. I usually don’t do powdered makeup as it will only make cakes and flakes. The second way to wear it is under makeup and even for someone like me with very dry skin, when you have it underneath it’s like a second skin application, giving you a backlit glow. The third way is makeup and even makeup is like a highlighter in a bottle. It is very constructible. »Spraying it on make-up will also revive your make-up and give it resistance.

Packed with powerful ingredients, Glass Skin Veil Mist doesn’t just rely on water for its base, which can actually leave skin even drier if it lacks other occlusive ingredients to lock in moisture. This is why fresh cucumber water is a key ingredient, which is packed with antioxidants. It’s also light enough that the spray is a super fine mist. The ingredient list is completed with peach extract for vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids to achieve that glow and strengthen the skin; reishi mushroom, an adaptogen which is a cornerstone of traditional Korean medicine to reduce damage, inflammation and redness; lotus and liquorice for brightening; cica to calm; ceramides to protect against stress factors; vitamin E to strengthen the skin; and aloe to soothe and replenish.

Another key ingredient in Glass Skin Veil Mist is their proprietary VoluSmooth. “We developed this complex of special ingredients and over 40 chemists worked on it,” Yoon explains. “It’s so innovative that we could sell this to other brands, but we won’t. We created VoluSmooth as a 100% herbal silicone alternative. It’s not just the shape of it, there is also a function. The three ingredients are the bamboo extract, which is really helpful in fortifying the skin and also has a nice finish. There is mulberry extract for antioxidants to fight free radical damage. Burdock root has been used for centuries in Korean medicine for eczema and acne. It gives a major glow, protecting the skin from the inside. The entire formula itself is really packed with things to combat these daily stressors and make sure you keep that glass skin from the inside out. “

Protecting the skin from daily stressors is the key to achieving glass skin. “Damage below the skin’s surface creates a lack of translucency,” says Yoon. “The sun can cause this. Pollution can also cause hyperpigmentation, as well as a lack of hydration. There are all of these different stressors on the skin, including blue light, the buildup of toxins in our environment, and the internal stress we face. It’s about using these ingredients to calm, hydrate, replenish, and brighten. Yoon herself is no stranger to skin problems, as she suffers from severe eczema, which is how she got into skin care. This is why its products are designed to be extremely gentle.

Ultimately, the definition of glass skin is healthy skin. “When the skin is at its healthiest, it appears pore-free, luminous and translucent,” says Yoon. “It’s hard to do it superficially. You have to fight inflammation, work on hyperpigmentation, tighten the appearance of pores and balance the skin. It’s a long term goal, not something you get overnight. We are really excited to share this so that you can help your skin look like this without makeup. I am very passionate about this because I have severe eczema and still suffer from itchy and inflamed skin. You don’t have to have good skin genes to have glass skin. ”

To prove it, Yoon shares his routine for getting glass skin:

STEP 1: CLEANING. “The very first step is extremely important because cleansers can over-strip the skin,” Yoon says. “As a beautician, I see so many people come up with this step gone wrong and it’s hard to catch up. I highly recommend a gentle cleanser like the Peach & Lily Power Calm Hydrating Cleansing Gel because it’s hydrating and soothing. This is one of Kourtney Kardashian’s favorite cleansers. Getting back to the inflammation, it is so important that we do whatever we can to combat it and calm it down. A cleanser can be a great addition to start a skin care routine the right way. “

STEP 2: TONER. After cleansing, use a moisturizing toner to balance the skin’s pH level. Yoon recommends it Peach Lily Wild Dew Treatment Essence, which combines a few steps by performing a dual function of toner and gasoline. “Hydration is a fundamental principle,” she says. “The emphasis is on regenerating, hydrating and infusing the skin first. This essence has three different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid and really regenerates the skin. It is excellent for plumping the skin with hydration and will absorb everything better. It also contains ingredients to lighten and firm. One thing I like to do on days when I have more time and am trying to veg is to layer this across a 30 minute TV show. It’s like getting a Korean hydrofacial. In my 20 years of facials, I have yet to meet someone to say that your skin is too hydrated – almost everyone is dehydrated. All of these microclimates, such as air conditioning in summer and radiators in winter, can have harmful effects on our skin. ”

STEP 3: SERUM. This is where the Peach Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum “It contains 2% niacinamide, peptides, peach extract for vitamins and minerals, and it’s packed with antioxidants,” Yoon says. “The clear serum is completely absorbed by the skin and is suitable for all skin types. Like all Peach & Lily ranges, it is also clean. Just as important as what you put on your skin is what you do not put on the skin. I don’t want to take seven steps forward and five steps back.

STEP 4: EYE CREAM. The just launched Peach & Lily Pure Peach Retinoic Eye Cream contains bakuchiol, a much gentler alternative to retinol for the skin. “It seals everything with great humidity,” Yoon says.

STEP 5: MOISTURIZING. Yoon’s go-to is the Peach Lily Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream, a super calming formulation that soothes irritation and is suitable for all skin types. “It’s full of antioxidants to protect the skin,” Yoon says. “It helps the skin to fight pollution.”

STEP 6: SOLAR SCREEN. Every expert knows that this step is not negotiable. “Every morning, follow this routine with an SPF,” Yoon says. “Windows only block UVB rays – they don’t block UVA rays – so it’s important to reapply indoors, as there is still sun coming in.”
