Chromebooks have become standard equipment in most schools, and many districts are now providing them to students. But district-provided Chromebooks are typically smaller, underpowered models with limited utility. There’s not much you can do on an 11.6-inch screen powered by an outdated processor.
As the 2022-23 school year approaches, here’s a list of the best deals on Chromebooks, with prices starting around $300. Many factors were considered in compiling this list such as cloud storage, battery life, display size, keyboard quality, ease of web browsing and whether or not a headphone jack is included for music or listening to lessons and class participation.

The highlight of this two-in-one Lenovo Chromebook is its 10th Gen Intel Core i3 processor, which is common to many budget Windows laptops and packs more than enough punch to power the lightweight Chrome OS.
The Flex 5 also has a 14-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It offers stylus support, but you need to purchase a stylus separately.

This Samsung Chromebook has a smaller screen at 12.2-inches than the other models here, but the touchscreen can rotate 360 degrees into tablet mode so you can play Android games – after homework is done, of course. .
The display offers a crisp 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and pen support for the included stylus. Inside, the system includes an Intel Celeron processor, 4 gigabytes of RAM, and 64 gigabytes of storage.

Acer’s mid-range convertible Chromebook, the 14-inch Spin 514, features a thin and durable all-metal body and an AMD Ryzen 3 processor. It’s a good middle ground between the smaller models 11.6-inch models that might get in the way of your computing style and the larger 15.6-inch models that you might not want to lug around campus every day.
This AMD-based model is currently on sale, but be aware that an Intel model is expected soon and it will feature the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard, better video conferencing capabilities and a more compact case.
