Tech Resolutions 2022: How To Improve Your Year With Life-Boosting Technology


New Year’s resolutions are often dismissed as vague and overly ambitious illusions that are ultimately doomed to failure. But what resolutions involve technology? Well, that’s another story.

Why tie your resolutions to technology? There are a few good reasons. First, a popular strategy for creating new habits is called “bundle temptation.” In short, linking something you love (gadgets) to something less important to you (your resolution) is usually more sustainable in the long run. Plus, we’re big fans of blaming our failures and shortcomings on inanimate objects.

But while Apple Watches, Chromebooks, and air fryers can all be stepping stones to better habits (as we’ll reveal in this series), New Year’s resolutions don’t have to be about self-improvement. As our IT editor Matt Hanson convincingly states in his pledge to make more PC games in 2022, it’s also a good time for tech-driven personal care, especially after the year that most of us have had it.
