HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook with $170 off might be 4th of July’s best laptop deal

HP’s high-end Chromebook, the HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook, got a price cut as part of the company’s 4th of July sale, dropping the price to $979.99 (opens in a new tab) – a saving of $169.01. (Not in the US? Check out the best Chromebook deals in your area below.)

While that might seem like a steep price for a Chromebook, even after the discount, it’s worth pointing out that this is one of the best Chromebooks you can buy right now, and packs some high specs. range, including an Intel Core i3-1215U, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

As with HP’s other Elite Dragonfly laptops, the HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook has a stunning thin and light design and quad B&O speakers, and delivers the kind of performance you wouldn’t normally expect from a Chromebook. It is also aimed at professionals, with increased security and virtual collaboration.

Chromebooks are brilliant devices that run ChromeOS, rather than Windows, and allow them to offer much longer battery life, thanks to ChromeOS being so lightweight.

ChromeOS also works brilliantly on low-end hardware, making Chromebooks much more affordable than laptops. However, in a high-end device like the HP Elite Dragonfly 13.5-inch Chromebook, high-end specs mean ChromeOS will simply fly when using. This $170 discount makes this a great time to buy a powerful Chromebook. We might also see some good Amazon Prime Day deals next week, but since the HP Elite Dragonfly 13.5-inch Chromebook is so new, we don’t expect to see price drops lower than that.
